Every month, Lendi helps thousands of Australians achieve their home ownership dreams. At the same time, thousands of Australians go without shelter.
In fact, more than 116,000 people are experiencing homelessness around the country right now.
It can affect anyone at any time.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 60 percent of our homeless people are aged under 35 and 13 per cent are under 12 years old.
On Thursday 20 June, our co-founder and managing director David Hyman will experience sleeping rough firsthand.
David will be joining more than 1600 business leaders around Australia in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise awareness and funds for homelessness.
Equipped with just a sleeping bag and the clothes on their backs, participants will be given a simple meal of soup and bread, cardboard to build a shelter and a beanie to keep warm.
“Basic needs like shelter, food and safety are things many of us rarely need to worry about, let alone on a day-to-day basis,” says David. “Sleeping rough for one night gives me a small glimpse into the realities our homeless population face each day, but importantly it’s an opportunity to raise money and help tackle the issue.”
Through a month of gratitude, the whole team at Lendi has been able to get behind the cause and David’s fundraising efforts.
“We’ve hosted a trivia night, a series of bake offs and asked the team to make a small donation when they snack on office supplies such as biscuits, bread, coffee, tea and fruit,” adds David. “It’s about raising money but also about stopping to appreciate the little things we take for granted.”

Lendi Homes was designed to give everyone at Lendi the opportunity to give back. By making it easier for Australians to find a better home loan, we’re helping relieve financial stress. That’s why each initiative in our Lendi Homes program has followed a similar theme of shelter, homes and houses. Learn more about Lendi Homes here.
