Ronald McDonald House is an independent charity that provides a home away from home for families who have a seriously ill child in a nearby hospital. By providing this accommodation, Ronald McDonald House aims to reduce the family’s stress.
The first Australian Ronald McDonald House was opened in Camperdown in 1981. There are now 16 Ronald McDonald Houses across Australia and over 360 houses globally.
The Ronald McDonald House in Randwick opened in 1991 and provides a home to 32 families every night.
Lendi Homes were pleased to be able to help out a charity that aligned with the mission of providing shelter.
Lendi organised a casino-themed fundraising night. Those involved used “funny money” to play at the casino tables. Lendi then matched dollar for dollar the funds the employees raised.
Lendi’s original target was to raise $7,000. However by the end of the night, Lendi had raised over $20,000! This was enough to adopt a room at Ronald McDonald House Randwick for 3 years.
Great work team!
